Dear Sir,

Hongkong Regn. 1029/1.

We have nearly completed the act of tracings

from the Contract Drawings for the above Requisition, and we

hope to return the Contract Drawings to you on Monday next.

Our object in writing at the moment is to

ask if it would be safe for us to proceed with the items on

the order which we were instructed to hold in abeyance pending

receipt of further details from you.

Owing to the advance in the price of joists

which occurred between the dete of our tender and the date on

which we were able to specify material, we have already lost

5/- per ton, and we are anxious to get the remainder of the

material on order at once to avoid the risk of a further advance,

Apart from all this, however, we hear from

our Steel Buyers that five of the sections of material which ·

will be required for the items in abeyance will be rolled on

different dates between Tuesday next and a fortnight hence,

and

we should be glad if you could let us have your instructions at

onee, so that we may avail ourselves of the opportunity of get-

-ting the various itens at the first rolling.

We submit, for your approval, the following

names of makers:-

Flatos

Messrs. The Consett Iron Co. Ltd.

Sectional Material - Messrs. The Prodingham Iron &

Steel Co. Ltd.

and we hope you willägree.

We await your further instructions, and are,

H.Rls. Barghis.

Yours faithfully, The Herschay Doom Enter (sd.) (esgnesure 11lopii

Director.
